sometimes i don't know why i like to draw sheep so much.

early weekend hiatus

So sitting in front of me is the DMV drivers' information packet. I have yet to read over this packet twice, so I have not gotten to any tests yet. I just finished packing four bags worth of old and unwanted clothes, books, and accessories for Elefante Blanco. I figured that these things shouldn't be sitting around in my room anymore when others may need it more than I do.

Therefore it is that time to donate.

Yesterday I had a really fun morning with Karney, Anne, and Calvin at Carmel-by-the-sea Beach. I walked countless miles to get to the restroom from where we eventually settled down at. We had a small fire going and made smores as you can see below. The chunky looking one was the one Karney made me, so I was forced to eat it. The water was freezing cold, but that didn't stop the unstoppable Anne from going back in continuously.

In the afternoon, before we headed back to SJ, we stopped by a nearby Trader Joe's in Monterey to gather organic food for Trung. Yesterday was Trung's birthday, so we decided to get him some tasty and organic food, which included the sweet potato chips, honey wheat pretzels (that I love), dark-chocolate chip-crisps, and more. I got myself a neat box of green tea mints. On the side tag, it says 3 of the mints = 1 cup of green tea. So I got my daily dose of green tea so far.

At Trung's place, we swam around and the others played tag in the apartment pool. Then we said our hellos and goodbyes and I went home to rest.

Now I am still trying to find unwanted items around my room. But I have to get back to studying for the practice subject tests soon.

Today, I have a job interview at Khai Tri at 7 pm.

happy birthday, broskie

mom says you were born at 6 pm 21 years ago from today. so that means you have now been 21 for only 3 hours and 37 minutes on my computer clock.

i hope you remember this picture. jennisaur asked me to throw you a surprise birthday party. so i remember asking dennis do to take me to party city, safeway and michael's to get supplies and gifts to decorate your green room before you came back from your basketball game.

i wish the two of you could be here right now, so we could play board games and watch movies together in the dining room like last summer.

but happy birthday to you today, and use this age wisely.

i hope the two of you come back for me soon.

you won't believe what happened today

It was around 7:30 a.m. when we picked up Vincent at his house. Note: We were getting ready to conquer the mountain lion trails again at Alum Rock.

(please excuse my lion drawing on paint, it's just for better visualizations)
Me: "Yay for hiking again!"
Calvin: "Dude, you know what would be funny? If we went to the beach right now... and didn't wait for any other day.."
Vincent and me: Ha. Ha. ....

next minute: The three of us were off to the beach(es) in Santa Cruz.

_________________________________________________
Our original plan was to head to the small and quiet Capitola by-the-sea  and that worked out just fine. We stopped by Nob Hill which was by the beach, to pick up some delicious French Bread, Spinach Dip (that only Calvin and Vincent ate), hot chocolate, coffee, graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate, big marshmallows, skewer sticks, wood blocks, and matches, for breakfast and lunch. At CVS next door, I picked up a box of Banana Chips to share with the gang.

After awhile, we decided that we wanted to head towards a different beach that Calvin recalled having three fire pits and barbecue grilling areas. He got the directions, but not the name of this beach twice, and in between we ended up going on this super long road trip to all sorts of different beaches in Santa Cruz. We made little stops here and there to ask for directions. In the end, the beach that Calvin thought was called "Seascape State Beach," was actually "Rio Del Mar State Beach." Viola.

By the time we settled down at the seventh beach, we pulled out the smores supplies. But we ran out of matches and did the whole wood block process wrong. Therefore, an unsuccessful attempt of making a little fire on a barbecue grill finally urged us to head back home.

On the exhausting car ride home, we mainly blasted the songs Billionaire by Travis Mccoy and Cooler Than Me by Mike Posner. Sometimes overplayed songs are meant to be played over and over again in Calvin's car.

In conclusion, we surely took a crazy spontaneous trip down to the beach(es) because we did not prepare for anything from the beginning. However, feeling lost at some points really marked the whole idea of doing something extreme, or rather out of the blue, today.

All of this happened in the early morning until semi-late afternoon of course. And another thing, waking up early has its loving benefits. You get to do more and explore more in the morning, and still have the time to work and study just as much for the rest of the day.

I also returned my Spanish Book today, so that was a huge sigh of relief.
