Part 4: the results of not being careful

Day 4: It was Sunday, July 4th, when we were on our way to Las Vegas, Nevada. On the way there, we stopped by an outlet and here comes a story of a forgetful girl who left her LG Voyager in the ladies' restroom. If you are unclear of what I am trying to say, then allow me to inform you on this disastrous afternoon. The forgetful girl was me and 10 minutes onto the road to Vegas again, I realized that I left my phone back there at the outlets. So I made my father drive all the way back. Going back, I tried calling my phone as many times as I could, but all I received back was a voice message in Spanish.

With my useless Spanish knowledge at that moment, I couldn't seem to put the Spanish words and meanings together. So we stopped by some gas station immediately and I ran out and asked a by passer who spoke Spanish fluently. Getting no help, someone finally picked up, but everything went wrong and chaotic. Here is a life story for me to share some day when I think of this sudden incident again. I will not proceed with this story's ending because it's not that worth telling. However, I learned a very important life lesson from this. It's that if you ever lose anything that concerns money, materials, or other possessions, you can always gain it back again somehow, someday. But if you lose something much, much more valuable than a phone, such as a life, then that is something that you cannot retain again anytime soon. I suppose just losing a phone that I've had for three years made me reflect on some other deeper things. It really taught me quite a few things. From now on, I will try to be even more careful and responsible.

Moving on, arriving in Las Vegas was exciting. You know you're in Vegas when you see tons of casinos and lights flashing nonstop. You know you're in Vegas in the summer when the weather is 105 degrees daily. You know you are in Vegas when the streets are packed with throngs of busy tourists. Last of all, you know you're in Vegas when there are wedding chapels and stripper bars everywhere you go.

We stayed at Treausre Island, a.k.a. "T.I." That night, we walked by the Sirens' Cove and passed by this nice-looking shack that labeled Grand Canyon Tours. So we browsed through lots of plastic sheets of pictures and information brochures regarding the South and West Rims of the Grand Canyon tours. In the end, we finally reached a decision to attend the South Rim Tour on Tuesday, July 6th, since Monday, July 5th was full. As the night went on, the heat carried on. Walking back to the hotel casino took a million years. It was one of those moments where you wished you had a cloud to float you back to the place you are staying.
