Luckily I ordered the Platinum Edition of Speak on Amazon, so I was able to read how Laurie Halse Anderson came to write this phenomenal piece. She seems to be a very sweet and kind lady whom I would very much like to meet someday. Her website says that schools literally set up schedules to meet with her two years in advance.
Now I wish Ms. Moneymaker had the power to invite Laurie Halse Anderson to our English class. Imagine how amazing that would be. It'd be pretty amazing.
